CBS’s “Blue Bloods” Star Abigail Hawk just had a fun week of celebrating her sons 6th birthday and she shared the most adorable post on Instagram!
The post went more into detail about how parents wish everything was perfect and planned on the day of their children party but the real beauty is just letting things go with the flow.
Abigail shared:

“I have shared space, time, energy, and love with this one for 6 years. I wanted to write him a big long happy birthday post, but the truth is that as joyful as today was, it was also really *really* overwhelming. Constant state of overstimulation. Too much of a good thing? Maybe?
He deserved every ounce of the goodness that came his way- the celebration with his best buds, the time with his Georgia grandparents, the gifts (my goodness so many wonderful gifts!), the scavenger hunt his big brother spent a whole week preparing, the texts and phone calls- but that explosion of excitement was loud and reverberating.
And the day got away from me.
He furiously unwrapped every single present all at once, not pausing to know who it was from, not pausing to even really see *what* it was, before finally settling on a long familiar game of dinosaur memory that calms him, grounds him.
Stuff went right. Stuff went wrong.
And I think that’s the thing. These big days never, ever *ever* unfold the way we think they will. We burn food and feelings. We overthink. We don’t think at all. We forget something. Or, sometimes worse, we remember something.
So I am just taking a moment now that he is finally sleeping to realize that the pure energy he delivers every single day is just, well, HIM. And we have to meet him where he is. We have to love him how he is. Because as hard as he can be so much of the time, he is just the most amazing clever hysterical big-hearted little boy. And 6 years really is no time at all to love someone so much.
So.
Happy birthday, little light of mine. Keep shining.”
Such an honest and inspiring post. Motherhood is beautiful.

A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son, Danny (Wahlberg), a seasoned detective, family man, an Iraq War vet. Danny sometimes uses dubious tactics to solve cases with his partner, Detective Maria Baez (Ramirez). Frank’s daughter, Erin (Moynahan), is a New York Assistant District Attorney. Frank’s youngest is Jamie (Estes), a Harvard Law graduate and the family’s “golden boy.” He passed on a lucrative future in law and follows in the family footsteps as a cop. Eddie Janko (Ray) is Jamie’s wife and a fellow officer.
